i've been trying to figure this bootcamp issue i'm having for about two months now, and i haven't been able to find anything. Help!

The problem is with my 17 inch macbook pro when i load xp. What happens is weird, after i install xp it works perfectly for a while. It might work for a two weeks or just a few days, but eventually when i start up xp it freezes about 30 seconds after xp loads. It is a complete freeze, the screen just sticks, and i have no control, no mouse, can't eject disks, just a frozen. Also, the computer will stay on for hours, won't go into sleep mode.

Once it happens once, it keeps happening until i reinstall xp. Which i've done about 6 times now. I've tried just reinstalling and also completely removing the windows partition, reforming, etc.

I don't know what to do. Can anyone help?

Thanks

What version of XP are you using, where did you get it, and have you installed ALL the updates available once you get the OS installed? You MUST install the updates, because even with great antivirus protection the holes the updates patch are there and horrible.

Further, what do you do with Windows? I had a programming professor tell me that "if you're writing C and you don't see the copyright notice for the video BIOS you're not really trying." Needless to say I goobered my computer more than once doing homework (because I DID try!). Some programs (including audio and video editing and even viewing apps) are rougher on Windows than others.
