Hey,

I am currently running a 2.0 ghz, 80 GB Hard Drive, 1 MB Ram, Macbook. I am thinking of purchasing a copy of Windows XP in order to run a few programs like Dreamweaver (and the Macromedia Suite) along with Adobe Photoshop. I may install a game or two such as the Sims 2, but I'm not much of a gamer.

Anyways, I'm wondering how all of this will work...I don't plan on saving much stuff at all on the windows part of my laptop. In fact...I really hate Windows now so I just want to use it when I have to and get out as quick as possible, lol. Anyways, I still want to keep some space for my Mac OS X side of course...but how much space will Windows XP need in order to run? I don't need a whole lot of hard drive space for the computer in general because I mainly use it for hmwk, web browsing, and some digital arts stuff... Keep in mind, I don't REALLY care about the speed of XP, as long as Mac OS X still runs well...

Anywho, can anyone give me some insight on how this whole thing works? I know from reading around that you can designate a certain amount of space for XP, basically what I'm wondering is if I'll be able to run XP with minimal programming while still maintaining a fast and spacious OS X...

Thanks in advance

The boot camp assistant will ask you what size of partition you use.. Id recommend at least 8 or 10GB, then when you set up windows it will ask you to format the partition. Format it FAT32.. then you can exchange files easily between the mac os partition and the windows partition. MacOS X reads and writes to the FAT32 Partition, NTFS Support in mac os x is rather limited.. Its relatively simple. I have a 10GB partition dedicated to windows for a few games.. thats about it and to run office.
