If I already have my os x partition set up and has been for a while, can i do a partition to the drive without wipeing it clean so i can install bootcamp? i know in some linux apps you can.

requirements for bootcamp:
"A bona fide installation disc for Microsoft Windows XP, Service Pack 2, Home Edition or Professional (No multi-disc, upgrade or Media Center versions.)"

does that meen i cant us XP pro with SP1 and upgrade to the 2nd pack later on once the install is done?

also what is parallel is it similar to bootcamp?

1. I'm not sure exactly what bootcamp wants to run, I know after I ran bootcamp and installed OS X and Windows, then later repartition the OS X into two partition, Boot Camp no longer ran. If it won't let you do anything you could boot up to a Linux live CD, and create a FAT32 partition manually for Windows.

2. The stickies at the top of the page are there for a reason. The Answer.

3. Parallels is virtualization - Windows runs right inside of Mac OS X and you can drag and drop files in between the two as they're both open. Boot camp allows you to boot Windows just like any other PC would. The main advantage Boot Camp has is native graphics drivers.
