As you can see from my sig. I have two macs. I really need to be able to run windows XP on both, for now anyways. There are certain sites I need to access for work that do not function properly on Safari or Firefox. Last night I got parallels up and runing on my C2D machine and it seems to work great. Pretty snappy actually.

Now the fun part is doing the same with my G4 Powerbook. I initiated the install before I left to work this morning and let it run. Dunno what the status is right now. How much slower is this setup going to be than Parallels? Are there any things I need to be aware of? It's primary function is to access secured sites and Frontpage. I use Frontpage alot!!! Anyone know of a Mac equivalent of Frontpage?

If you mean you want to use Parallels on your PowerBook, well you can't, It's only for Intel Macs. The only way you could run XP is by getting an emulator (e.g. Microsoft Virtual PC), but it will be slow. I mean really slow.

As firefly mentioned, parallels is for intel macs only. It takes advantage of intel's virtualization technology built into their cpus. VPC on the other hand emulates an intel cpu which is why its so much slower. Software emulation is always slower the hardware and to a degree this is why parallels is so much more perky then vpc

VPC is horribly slow. You may find it usable for web browser testing, but nothing else.

are you sure these sites must have IE for Windows? Maybe a user agent ID change might work.
