Got a little issue on... hoping someone smarter than me had a word of advice. I installed boot camp, partitioned the hard drive, and then while installing Windows (not know how much battery this hogged) at 95% my laptop power went out (my luck). I plugged in the Macbook and then the laptop proceeded to install the os... while I'm thinking oh good it's doing it automatically like it would have or just almost did. It installed fine... I installed the drivers. Turned off the laptop... next time I turned it on I had no option to run the Mac OS ... it just booted into XP with no prompt. I tried every key command but every Mac command gave me the screen with the option to boot in save mode. I tried holding down x to force boot mac... it booted windows... tried holding down command... booted windows... I tried holding command control shift delete... booted windows...

I reinstalled the Mac os and spent the day putting the programs back on it. I tried boot camp again tonight. The assistant did the exact same thing it did when I went to install it last night but windows did not actually reinstall. It went straight to the operating system as if I'd put in a selfboot disc. Can someone please offer me some advice on how to get OSX back without completely reinstalling the os?!?!? Before I throw my brand new macbook out the window?!?

Try holding down the option key as the computer starts up. That should give you a list of the drives and operating systems that are on your 'puter.

Or, within Windows, go to the control panels, select classic view, and open the "startup disk" control panel. Then you can select the Mac OS again.

One word of advise, try Parallels... Don't throw the Macbook out. I'll buy it...

So far as I've seen, there's no way to force the system to provide you a boot option screen by default. Holding down the Option key WILL give you the boot option screen, though. And one thing that gets installed with the drivers is a Control Panel applet that lets you select the default boot OS, so all you have to do is, once XP has loaded, go to the Control Panel applet and choose "OS X" and it will AUTOMATICALLY boot into that, letting you choose XP through the Option key method.
