Hello,
I need windows to use bits of software for work - Apple is my prefered OS so please don't bite my head off!
Yesterday I succesfully installed the latest Boot Camp (v1.1.2) from Apple and then put the standard UK version of Windows Vista Home Premium (Full not upgrade) on my iMac with not a single problem! I was all ready to have loads of issues but it all went through fine. The Vista works to it's fullest ie all the gfx and 3D gfx. Even my Apple bluetooth mouse and keyboard work!
Just thought I'd let you all know. Oh, despite it being Windows, it does look great.
Jono.

Now that's interesting!
With XP Pro my bluetooth mouse and keyboard only work if I do not install the Apple drivers! Did you install the Apple drivers with Vista?

I think YOUR experience is more interesting than the OP's! It implies that the drivers that come with the version of XP you got are better than Apple's-even though Apple's are specific to the precise hardware you have, and XP's CANNOT be. It's bizarre! I'm glad for you, but I'm puzzled by your experience.

Oh, I know, it's quite bizzare but I tested this twice! After the XP installation mouse and keyboard worked - then I installed the Apple drivers CD and they stopped working!
Weird thing was, that a few weeks ago, I forgot to take out my Logitech USB keyboard which I use now for the occasional Windows experience and started typing on my Apple bluetooth keyboard instead...and everything was fine! It never worked again since then!
(I DO have the Apple drivers installed - I need them for the internal mic, don't I?)

I created a driver disk whilst installing boot camp. Once installed Vista, the bluetooth keyboard and mouse worked fine without installing anything else. I then used the driver disk to tell Vista about sound etc.

Did the driver CD work with Vista without any need to fiddle around? As in, just double-click on the installer and have it run? I had some problems with the disk and RC1, but it could have been fixed by now.

I just tried today with the Home Premium edition. I get a fatal error at the end of the installation. Everything seems to work (regular keyboard, wi-fi, sound) but iSight and bluetooth are dead. I uninstalled the ATI control panel and downloaded new catalyst drivers from ATI. Meh!? I think OSX still is better...
UPDATE: I tried extracting the drivers from the setup application to the Macintosh Drivers folder on the C drive. The only ones there are realtek, sigmatel, and I think it was ATI. (did this late last night) I then tried using the device manager to go thru and pick the necessary drivers for the bluetooth radio and isight. The hardware is rcognized, but the drivers won't install from the setup program or the extracted files. I guess it's time to wait for Apple...

(Reason:more installation experience))
