hi, I got macbook black which is Intel base. and I use bootcamp to install XP on it. it ran well in Xp. just a problem is when I want to run OSX I open controll panel in Win Xp under start up disk then I chose OSX is main boot it ask for restart, I click on restart and the machine now can not start up and doesnt show up any thing. just light white when I turn the machine on. I can not boot from any source. Has any way to help me to fix this, machine now like a death machine. Plese help me I had spent all my budget to have this machine, please help me to save it. MANY THANKs

try resetting the PRAM (or whatever it's called now on the intel macs) by holding command + option + P + R until it chimes a few times

Did you try holding the option key down during the reboot process. You should be able to choose the partition to boot off after selecting that.

I generally use the option key instead of the control panel/system preferences to select the start up disk

I had a friend with this issue the other day and he never did get it fixed. Sent it back to Apple. If it's less than a year old it should be covered under warranty.

Someone else might know how to fix it though. My friend reset everything and option boot did nothing.

I had tried to press option key may time but it didnt work. I insert the the Cd which go with the machine when I brought it and press C key during booting it cant help as well. this is a second hand one so I dont have any warranty cover and Im not sure the CD go with it is a right one for the machine or not. Im so upset about this, so has any other way to help me save it. Thank you very much my all dear friends.

thnx all my friend. I brought a new HDD which conteint a 10.4 image. It work fine now. Many thanks for helping me. I may need ur help more in the future. thnx
