Boot Camp expects you to insert a bootable Windows CD for the process to work. An installation file on your hard drive doesn't even sound like you have an image you could burn to make a bootable CD, so you may be out of luck.
it's very possible to create a bootable CD from the files on your HDD, you just need the actual bootable bit from the CD itself to load into the image. I think it would probably be easiest considering Boot Camp is thrown into the mix. not sure what app on OS X would do this, but on WinXP I use UltraISO. Still in search of a similar app for Mac. If anyone knows of a good ISO mastering app PM me (don't need to steal focus of this thread more than I already have )
