I just recently bought a MacBook Pro and have been trying to install Windows XP Pro with SP2 (just like boot camp asks for) for the past couple days now, trying every little thing, doing as much research as I can to find an solution but nothing seems to be working... Can anyone help me?
I'm using Boot Camp 1.1.2 btw. To my knowledge, that's the most recent version.
I've already burned a CD for Macintosh Drivers and Partitioned the hard drive for Windows (went with the 32GB), and when I get to the step that tells me to insert the Win XP CD, I stick it in and push "Start Installation" and it tells me:
"No Install CD found. Please wait for the computer to recognize the disc." Or something along those lines. So I wait a few minutes, I click Start Installation again, it tells me the same thing, even though I can open the disc through Finder and the desktop reads it as a CD named Win XP Pro. The CD works fine when I run it on a PC, so I highly doubt there's anything wrong with the CD.
Solutions I've tried:
-Restarting with the CD in and holding down the Option key. DID NOT WORK - I've tried this several times and the only item that shows is the Macintosh HD.
-Restarting with the CD in and holding down C. DID NOT WORK - sometimes it spits out my CD and sometimes I just see a blinking folder with a "?" on it.
-Burning a copy of it using a PC. DID NOT WORK. I get the same results with the copied CD as I do with the original.
-Burning a copy of it using the Mac. DID NOT WORK. I get the same results with that one as well.
I'm running out of ideas here guys and I really need to be able to use Windows on this computer. An emulator is not an option and I'd rather not use the parallel.
And yes, I've been using an Admin account on my computer.
Please help... thanks.
