I have Vista Ultimate on Parallels 3186 on MacBook Pro (OS X). I have not been able to get Windows Updates since installation. Error code 80072ee2 says 'Windows could not search for updates'. I have followed 'Get help' and other searches but unsuccessful.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Is the date correct on your Vista installation? Also have you tried setting IE7 as your default browser? Finally is your system part of a Windows domain that might be redirecting your software update feature?

Maybe you need to update to 3188.

Thanks for the attention. Since your posts, I have continued to be frantic in persuits.
@mfbernstein: I have followed your links. The date has been correct.
Default browser? It is the only one on the VM. I am able to browse everywhere else with it. Just how do I confirm that IT IS the default?
No, I am not (yet) part of Windows domain. Second thought, I am not confident I know what that all means!
@ibook_steve: I've successfully updated to 3188, still no luck. I uninstalled the (Norton Internet Security 2007) antivirus I had, no luck. I have deleted the VM and re-installed the Vista, same result!

Sigh! After relentlessly fooling around with all the settings the damn thing just started to do. I cannot now know which of the changes did the deed. I am just happy. Thanks everyone.

Did you try searching the parallel's forum? Also the current version of parallels has some sort of prepare for vista set of tasks did you do them?

While its little consolation to you vista is running find under bootcamp, one question because of the enormous size of vista, why run it under parallels. You're getting little benefit, XP would actually run better and be more perky under parallels then vista would - just food for thought (I run vista under BC and XP on parallels).
