Hi people,
I'm having a couple of issues with my new MBP running XP SP2 and Bootcamp 1.2, I've spent a couple of hours looking for answers with no results so here goes, hope someone can help.
Latest firmware and Apple drives for XP are installed, machine has 1gb RAM.
1) When I put the laptop into standby either manually or by shutting the lid (that option is enabled in Ctrl panel > power > adv) it hangs at the "Preparing to standby..." screen. I don't think anything shuts down as the screen and backlight stay on and there is periodic HD activity. The trackpad remains active but the only way to get out of the hang is to shut down. Edit : just found out it hangs on hibernate too! gahhh...
2. In OSX there's the option to disable the trackpad if a USB mouse is used - is there a convenient way to do this under XP apart from disable the trackpad in the hardware setup?
3. Tooltips display UNDER their icons so cannot be read.
4. The F-buttons work with the Fn key to manage volume and screen brightness but the keyboard backlight ones don't work - is this normal or do I have to install
this kb Input Remapper util (third thing after numbered list) to use these?
Btw I installed the Intel chipset fix from that post (linked above) that was said to cure his standby/hibernate problems but no joy.
thanks for reading,
smithy.
