Hello,

I have the following Mac Pro :

Model Identifier: MacPro1,1
Processor Name: Dual-Core Intel Xeon
Processor Speed: 2.66 GHz
Memory: 5 GB
Bus Speed: 1.33 GHz
Boot ROM Version: MP11.005C.B04

With the following display,

ATI Radeon X1900 XT:

Chipset Model: ATY,RadeonX1900
VRAM (Total): 512 MB
Vendor: ATI (0x1002)
Device ID: 0x7249
Revision ID: 0x0000
ROM Revision: 113-A52027-140
EFI Driver Version: 01.00.140
Displays: DELL 3007WFP

I use the latest version of bootcamp 1.2 and everytime I try to install be it XP or Vista I get a corrupted display (everything is fine under OS X). I can't get to install either of them and it is really annoying

It boots, white/grey screen comes up (I think loading EFI/BIOS) then it goes to all corrupted beginning installs.

Any clues ?

Just to verify: you are following the Boot Camp directions and are using an XP SP2 or Vista disk, correct?

Don't know if this is a similar issue, but I got the black screen of death after installing XP Pro. For me I had to delete the BC ATI drivers on the XP partition, and download/install the ATI drivers (with .net framework) directly from ATI.

AND EVEN THEN, I had to install, install, install the drivers 3 times before they took. I've heard ATI drivers are flaky at best. Hope this helps...

I experienced similar issues with my ati based MBP17. Yours is the first I read about with a mac pro. I did however, recieve confirmation today from a senior rep at apple that my posts regarding the display distortions that arose after updating to EFI 1.4 have been reviewed and that this issue is in fact being worked on. They acknowledged that they are not only aware of this very issue, but they are expecting to have this issue addressed with an EFI update relatively soon. Now soon has a loose connotation these days. Since Alsoft's recent claim that DW would be available as free update soon (since January), I don't hold out any false hopes of a speedy update.
For now, I am just happy to have news that it is being worked on and a solution is in sight, rather than the denial of the problems existence, as the case has been for others. The rep said check for software updates regularly. (As if I didn't already check multiple times per day in addition to checking the macworld widget for updated news on everything mac.)
