This is an odd question, I know, and is more a product of me being OCD than anything, but, whenever I boot OS X, my Windows partition mounts as a drive named "Untitled" in read-only mode. I'm one of those people who has to have everything nit-pickingly organized file-wise.

Is there any way to rename that to say "Windows Vista" (it's locked out since it's read-only, could I perhaps do it through Vista) or make it not show up on startup at all (and yes, I know I can just unmount it).

(I don't know what its like in Vista, but I know how to do it in XP, so here it goes...)

By default in Windows C: has no volume label, so you must assign one

Right click C: in My Computer and choose 'Properties' and somewhere in that control panel will be a text box to assign a volume label (I haven't used Windows in years so don't be mad if I'm wrong )

When you go back into OS X it should now have a volume label other than 'Untitled'.
Signature depreciated.

As C.A.T.S. says, boot into Windows and provide a name there. That's all it takes. Remember that OS X simply reads the volume label from the NTFS volume, so that's where the name for that volume on your desktop comes from. Mine is "WinMac."

Thanks a lot guys, worked exactly how I wanted it to. I've even installed some NTFS drivers so I can access both volumes from OS X. Minus a few issues getting my hard drive to partition initially (I needed a defrag), I've had nothing but the best possible experience with Boot Camp.
