Okay, I know there must have already been a thread about this, so I'm sorry. Okay, is there a way to have a folder that shows up on both Windows and Mac so if I were working in Windows, I could drop it in that folder, then open up OSX, and see it there as well? Thanks.

Lots of ways to do this. But (aside from the fact that this HAS been covered here in the past and Search is your friend) I can't tell you "the" way to go without knowing more about your setup. You're running Boot Camp-fine. How is your Windows drive partitioned? There are a couple of different things to be aware of, but I need to know if you used NTFS or FAT32 before I point them out.

what would you suggest? i haven't actually downloaded boot camp yet. i'll only really be using windows for microsoft access and visual basic. i don't know what to format it as. And for those programs only, would Parallels or this VMWare be better? As for FAT32 or NTFS, I don't know what to do.

OS X can READ both NTFS and FAT32 partitions, but (natively anyway) can only write to FAT32 partitions. FAT32 is not as advanced as NTFS, and has an annoying maximum file size of just under 4GB. I prefer NTFS for a number of reasons having to do with its security and stability. Access is, in my opinion, too complex for anything but running Windows natively. Visual Basic is pretty well behaved, but it does a few interesting things, and last time I checked, Visual Studio "preferred" NTFS for any installation. I'd go that way-Boot Camp with NTFS.
If you only need to be able to read files from your Windows partition, go with NTFS. If you "need" to be able to write to it as well, the inherent choice is FAT32. Or an external drive-which can be exceptionally inexpensive, such as a $20 USB flash drive (I've seen 2GB flash drives for $20 this past weekend.)
