I used the previous version of Parallels originally with a virtual drive and once they started supporting Boot Camp partitions I switched to that. My system ran so slow though, especially when booting up and shutting down Windows through Parallels but overall ran very slow. I posted then and a lot of others had the same issue so I changed back to the virtual drive.
Now that Parallels is up to 3.0 is this still a problem or does it work better?

Based on all of the posts on parallel's forums I would wait till 3.1 comes out. Lots of people are dealing with problems. Not just issues related to bootcamp but general stability issues. Check out the site (forums.parallels.com) before committing to 3.0

Also before upgrading, backup your VM because the upgrade converts your current VM that means you'll not be able to use the prior version once you upgrade.

For me at least, a resounding "No." Parallels slows down my Mac even when it's not running (something to do with the Parallels Host-Guest and Parallels NAT network connections remaining active, I think) and it also hosed my Boot Camp partition. This software is very beta and very broken. I wouldn't use it.
