Hi
This is my first posting in a long time.
The reason is, I just bought a Macbook pro to administer our variety of Linux, Windows and Unix (AIX) servers + PC's and workstations. My key access to the whole thing is through an AD 2003.
But my problem is that when I'm outside our global LAN (an international mpls network), and must rely on Cisco VPN, OSX is not able to validate my user credentials. Actually my AD user account doesn't even show up. Likewise, I cannot access my AD user account files from a local OSX user when I am not able to log on to that account.
Although this must be a common problem I haven't found the fix yet.
So, does anyone know a way to log on to an AD account when you are outside validation connectivity. On Windows based PC's there are at least two ways: Cached credentials that let you log on with local validation or Cisco VPN preload (VPN client establish the tunnel and let you validate before logon, in which case you are not using cached credentials).
Best regards
