That's not an accurate statement-it's not doing what you
wanted, but it DID do what you told it to. Not knowing what will happen before you do something is about 85% of all "computer problems" in most corporate environments, and the most effective techs are those who have teaching skills along with technical skills-at least they can teach the users not to touch stuff they're not supposed to.
As mduell says, there are FREE ways around this stumbling block. I highly recommend KEEPING the NTFS format and using the free tools that allow OS X to write, as well as read, the NTFS drive.
