If I buy an XP Pro OEM disc to replace my installation of XP MCE, will the installation work properly with the COA that is found on the bottom of my Dell?

I can't believe Windows users put up with this crap, but. . .

Nope, even though MCE is just Pro with some extra addons.

If you have a valid license on your laptop then I would just borrow or download an MCE disc. Microsoft already has your money and you a legal license.

...and a few of the "Pro" features disabled, like joining domains.

It seems to me I read somewhere that COAs were at least "edition specific." Home COAs did not appear to work with Pro discs and so on. This makes sense from a marketing standpoint, since otherwise you could buy a lower cost COA and a cheap copy of a higher cost OS and get out of paying for the OS you were installing.
