Greetings all,
I moved back on campus today, and so most of the past few hours has been spent setting up the electronics and such. OS X works fine, though we have an external HD issue that is a story for another time. Parallels boots up fine from my Boot Camp partition, and I get the internet while using Paralles I imagine from the bridged connection of the MacBook.
However, we have a problem when I boot up into Windows straight up. Obviously, my router is broadcasting the signal because I get it in OS X, and occasionally I find it in Windows. However, when I connect, the ability to get online is still beyond my reach. The upper right hand corner, where it indicates whether or not you are directly connected to the internet, still says Not Connected although I apparently am connected to the network. Any thoughts on how I might go about fixing this problem? Many thanks.

Do you get a valid IP address? Do you have to set up a connection through a proxy server that may be set up correctly in Mac OS X but not in Windows?
