Hello everyone,
I'm new at Mac stuff because all my life I've being dealing with Windows OS and now I just bought a iMac 24" which is great. I'll like to know where to find info for on how to install Windows XP on my iMac OS X and some other programs like ActiveSync to sync my PDA.
I'll appreciate all the help I can get since I'm totally new on this thank you.

Boot Camp is free (and included in the latest version of OS X), and it allows you to install Windows natively on your Intel-based Mac. I use it on both my MacBook Pro and my new 20" aluminum iMac for exactly the same sort of thing you want to. You can also use software solutions like Parallels and VMWare. In all cases, you need a legit copy of Windows, and for Boot Camp it has to have SP2 incorporated into it. But it works great and I find that Windows runs better on my iMac than on my desktop PC.
By the way, there are other ways to work with your PocketPC/Windows Mobile PDA and your Mac. "The Missing Sync" and "PocketMac" are two that come to mind right off the bat. Not free, but very reasonable, and you don't need to mess around with Windows to use 'em.

This is a really dumb question:
Is it possible to have both O/S on the Mac Book i.e Mac OS X & Windows ??
I've used Windows all my life & i'm a professional Securities Trader which also means that most 'Trading Software' from Brokers is Windows compatible.
Having said this, i want to take advantage of the superior Mac OS X (when i need to)..
Pls. advise.
Thanks - DC

yes, you can use both. You can boot between them and use either one exclusively, or you can use an app like Paralles or VMware Fusion to run Windows while booted into OS X.

Thanks.
How do Paralles or VMware Fusion actually work ?
Are you saying that OS X will be the PRIMARY O/S & Windows will be secondary O/S ?
In any case which arrangemewnt will be OPTIMUM without compromising the SUPERIORITY of Mac OS X

Under Boot Camp ( Apple - Mac OS X Leopard - Features - Boot Camp), each OS is equal (to use your terminology). Using Parallels or VMware Fusion, the Windows OS runs within the Mac OS. I've used all 3 methods, and they all work very well, and Windows runs generally very well. However, if you need 100% speed from Windows or a Windows app, you should boot into Windows via Boot Camp.

I hope that it's also possible to partition hard disk on a MacBook (besides Pro Ver) to run both OS X & Win. ?
