Do I have to do a reformat of the Windows partition or will just the Boot Camp partition be upgraded?

I'm no Boot Camp expert, but Leopard shouldn't have any effect on your Windows partition.

You will want to update the Apple drivers within Windows. Just insert your Leopard DVD while booted in Windows and you should automatically get the driver install program loaded.
