I knew it would be a mistake installing XP on my MacBook Pro . . . I knew it!

Suffice it to say, with Leopard, I decided the finally spring the $200 and buy XP Home Edition and proceed to to install per Leopard's instructions.

To make a long story short, my MBP is now stuck in limbo with a DOS screen that says "Press any key to boot from CD . . . Disk error Press any key to restart"

Problem is, no keys are responding and I can't eject the XP DVD and even powering down and back up brings me back to this DOS screen.

Can anyone help? Thanks!!!

Try holding down the Option key while the Mac boots-that should get you back to the boot disk selection screen. Choose OS X and let it boot. Once it finishes booting, you should be able to use the eject button to get the disc out.

Now if this doesn't work, your problem isn't that disc, but that you have A disc stuck in your MacBook Pro. To get around that, search in the MBP/Powerbook forum for how to eject a stuck disc.

same here but I try to get XP cd out
first you need power off, then press D when power on, thus you can enter Hardware test screen, press Eject button couple times, then press the Shutdown, the CD will come out!

the error that says "Press any key to boot from CD . . . Disk error Press any key to restart" is cause by NOT format disk when install XP, but when I try several times, according to bootcamp install guide page 13, there should be a screen ask you format, but my xp installation just skip that and directly copy files into disk...

Sharks, you probably already have that partition made and formatted. It's probably a good idea to go back into the Boot Camp Utility and use the "restore the startup disk to a single partition" option, then start over. That will give you a known condition to work with and alleviate the confusion you're getting from the error messages.
