I'm trying to install Darwin on VMWare fusion and it's giving me a lot of grief. I grabbed the Darwin 8.0 x86 binary from Apple's site. I created a new virtual machine, and then I had to remove the default virtual disk and create a new one using IDE instead of SCSI to get it to be recognized. The installer boots, but when it gets to the point of extracting the packages it throws "warning: error during extraction" for every single package. Any thoughts? Has anyone gotten Darwin working on Fusion?
When birds fly in the right formation, they need only exert half the effort. Even in nature, teamwork results in collective laziness.
