On my MBP C2D 2.33 BC 1.4 XP, I'd like to get a few more display options than those provided by the standard ATI Control Panel and probably some performance gain.
Unfortunately, I have no idea which driver package could be the best and not enough Win experience to undo a bad choice. These are the options:

• *current* Apple Boot Camp 1.4 delivered drivers v. 8.39 (with ATI Control Panel 6.14)
• Apple Boot Camp XP Software Graphics Drivers 8.353 from ATI Website (with Catalyst Control Center)

• ATI Catalyst™ Mobility 7.11 Display Driver for Windows XP
• ATI Catalyst™ 7.11 Display Driver for Windows XP patched with Mobility Modder

• Radeon Omega Drivers 3.8.421 (Catalyst 7.10) for XP

Any experience with one these?

Omega Drivers easily and by far. 7.11 will be out real soon.

When I tried the Omega drivers (admittedly a year ago), my display came out looking a little grainy. But they worked just fine while I had them on. I think I'm still sitting with Apple's old ATI drivers right now, but the modded mobility drivers worked flawlessly while I had those installed, too. I don't think you can install ATI's drivers without mobility modder.

Performance-wise, I didn't notice much difference.

7.11 doesn't offer a performance increase. The readme says it fixes bugs on several games, etc. At this stage after many driver updates it is highly doubtful that more performance can be squeezed out of the X1x00 series.
