Everywhere I look Boot Camp is telling me that I need to have Windows XP with Service Pack 2 on it.

I have an copy of Windows XP Home that I bought a couple of years ago and never used. What I wanted to know is if Boot Camp will be able to install that one even though it does not have SP2 on it, or if I have to actually go buy a copy of Windows XP with SP2 on it.

it has to have sp2 on it. One option for you is to slipstream sp2 on your windows xp cd.

Read this thread in the reference section of this forum. It gives instructions on how to combine the freely downloadable SP2 with an existing XP install disc. It's easy and simple.
