Recently I've been trying to install xp to my macbook via bootcamp and everything works fine until i get to the screen with the windows logo that says waiting to install. At this point everything stops, after a few minutes the screen goes black and nothing happens. I've let the computer sit like this for a while hopping that the problem would pass but it never does. I've tried reformatting and redoing the partitioning but i can not seem to get this install to work at all. Any help on the subject would be greatly appreciated.

Comp Specs:
Macbook 2GHz intel core duo
1 gig ram
100 gig Hd
running leopard

What's the source of your XP install disc? Is it really, really clean? Macs tend to have pretty sensitive optical drives, and dirty discs (even if they don't look dirty) can mess things up. I'd try again, but clean the living stuff out of the disc first.

Oh, and if it's a burned disc, like you slipstreamed it, you might want to redo it. It couldn't hurt.

like ghp said. You could also try making a copy of it to a new disc. I've always found Windows 2000 and XP installations to be finicky. Sometimes the media works, sometimes it doesn't. Other times a copy of the original will work.
