Ok, this is my first post, I'm just trying to get to the bottom of my issues... As far as I know, there are no solutions to any of these... YET...
So here they are::
- Setting the power settings to "Do Nothing" when closing the lid of my laptop does not shut off monitor.
- Nvidia 8600M for some reason fails to play video when coming out of hibernation. It works perfectly fine when it soft/hard boots. And when the Nvidia Control Panel is launched it leaves artifacts all over the monitor in a spread out annoying pattern.
- Like above, coming out of hibernation also disables iSight. going to USB Video Device from My Computer shows a black screen. Interestingly enough, clicking on "Take a New Picture" does save a new picture as it should have.
Can anyone else confirm?? and are there any solutions??
Thanks in advance...

I've been having the same issues. I've tried a handful of drivers from laptopvideo2go and still no goodness.
It's reallllly aggravating. Let me know if you come across anything that helps.

Before anyone can guess... you need to be more specific about your problems. Are you booting to XP from startup or are you using parallels?
What are you trying to achieve by closing the lid? Are you trying to close the lid so you can slide the MBP into a tray or something so that you can use it like a headless mac? Thus... you want to have only one screen activated in windows, and you want it to be your plug in LCD right?
I think there are a few things going on here. Try some standard troubleshooting. Wait. You're trying to close the lid, but you still want to use the iSight. I'm sorry but you're gonna have to take the time and write out a good long post on exactly what you're trying to do so we can help you.

15" MacBook Pro 2.16 GHz Intel Core Duo (1st generation - I think), 2 GB SDRAM and ATI Radeon X1600
I am using BootCamp (from Leopard 10.5.1 install disc) along with Windows XP Professional. Windows boots up and runs on the internal 15" monitor with no problem. My attached 30" Cinema Display monitor has power but remains blacked out. I have read the forums and tried to adjust everything but cannot get the 30" Cinema Display to display an image. I cannot find any choice to extend my desktop and can only surmise that I have not installed my "external monitor." Can anyone give me some help?
Thanks,
Dan Perry

I guess bishopazrael didn't see my title...
these problems are happening from BOOTCAMP with XP or VISTA on any NEW nvidia powered MBPs
Current Work arounds are...
1. DO NOT USE HIBERNATE (i know, it sux.)
2. Use InputRemapper to turn off the BACKLIT LCD when its dark enough (Emulated Lid Close)

You weren't exactly clear that you were booting into Windows, rather than using an emulator like Parallels of Fusion. There are plenty of threads here that have started "looking" like they were talking about one thing and turned out to be talking about the other.
And everything you're talking about seems to be a driver issue, not a "Boot Camp" or "Leopard" or even "MBP" issue. Drivers get updated and upgraded now and then, and maybe it would help to point out these issues to Apple and ask them when they're going to fix them...

Install Omega Drivers instead of the graphics drivers supplied with Boot Camp. It includes all the traditional ATI preferences that give you control over external monitors and better 3D performance too.

Good point. The ATI drivers that come with Boot Camp are "not great." A lot of people here have had very nice things to say about Omega drivers-better performance and more functionality are the most important ones.
