Hi All,

A friend of mine is running WinXP Pro. He has an external 1TB RAID with purportedly has 350+ GB of space left. When he attempts to copy a 4.5 GB DVD image from his primary HD to the RAID, it says it doesn't have enough space.

Any ideas? How should he go about troubleshooting this?

He has noted that he can't copy large files to the RAID. For example, he could copy over 10 CDs worth of data, but not a single DVD image of 4.5 GBs.

Figured out the problem. Noticed his RAID was FAT32 formatted. Maximum allocation size for a single file under FAT32 is 4GB.

Thanks to anyone who was or is in the process of finding some suggestions for me.

Just got to this one. Yep, FAT32 won't/can't handle files over about 4GB.
