I installed boot camp on my new MacBook in January with Windows XP. Everything was working fine until I needed to delete the partition and reinstall boot camp and windows because i needed more hard drive space on the Windows side. Now I am unable to connect to the internet wirelessly. I have spent time at the local Mac store and tried calling Microsoft (who wants to charge $90 to talk to me). I cannot figure out what happened from the time I took off boot camp and reinstalled it. I have tried reinstalling it and repairing the disks from my Leopard disks. Any suggestions as to why this doesn't work all of a sudden? It will work if I connect (via ethernet cable) to my Airport Extreme.

Welcome to our forums!

Did you reinstall the drivers that come with Boot Camp? That's absolutely critical for many features of your Mac, especially the AirPort card.

I did install the drivers (the Mac OS install disc one). I put it in today and did a repair but that didn't seem to work either. Any other suggestions. I have a feeling its something simple, but I have no idea what it could be.

Instead of a driver repair, do you get an option to reinstall/install the drivers? I'd try that -- just a wholesale reinstall if you have that option.

Well, let's look at your Windows settings. Can you select the wireless network? Are you getting a valid IP address? Check in Network Connections for this. You might just need to click "Repair" to re-acquire a valid IP address.

Thanks Steve. I have checked the network settings and there is no IP address when I am at home (where I am having the problem). I just got to school and it connected wirelessly. I will try the repair at home once I get there. I just know there is something in the network settings that isn't right. It has to be simple, right? If I repair the network settings and that doesn't work, does anyone have any other suggestions? I appreciate all the help so far.
