Does anyone have XP running on their macbook and also have a 1920x1200 external display? It seems that apple is the only company that makes a small screen (13") laptop that can actually push out 1920x1200 resolution via DVI.

Yes, you can do that with the MacBook.

The ASUS U3S-A1 (white or black) is another option, and it has a discrete GPU for better graphics performance. If you want to go down to a 12", then the ASUS F9Sg-A1 is an option. They all have HDMI, which can be trivially converted to DVI (just like the miniDVI port on the MacBook).
