iMAC 2.4 ghz, running WXP under Parallels 3.0 and having trouble setting up an HP3055 printer. I've seen recs that I don't install drivers in the Windows system-just use those already installed on the Mac side. But this doesn't work for me. So I've loaded more drivers under Windows and when I plug in the printer (USB) it asks if I want to connect, but if I say yes it won't allow me to print on the Mac side.

Has anyone successfully set up their HP printer to print on both sides? And how did you do it?
Thanks.......

Not sure with Parallels, but in VMWare you can "disconnect" the device within the window which releases the device to use for the Mac. Once I quit VMWare, I can print from the Mac again.

You need to disconnect the printer from the Windows side, at which point it should mount on the Mac OS side. It can't be mounted in both operating environments simultaneously. There should be a series of USB icons. Clicking on the right one should give you a pop-up with the option to dismount from Parallels Windows OS.

If you're in Coherence, use the Devices -> USB submenu to attach and deattach devices.

Steve
Guess I finally got that fifth star!
