Silly as it sounds, I only need it aimed to run some .bat commands, so I guess/hope I don't need to fill my hard disk up with Virtual PC+Windows-Whatever… Besides that, only requirement shall be the ability to access-share files with the 'Mac side' of the computer, sort of a shared folder. I wonder if stuff like Boxer is all it takes…
Boxer: Mac-Friendly DOS Emulation

Thanks.

your only option is to run virtual pc AFAIK, I haven't heard or seen anything about Boxer but short of loading and running VPC, I'd give that a shot.

I use DOSbox. You don't really need a GUI for it, but boxer looks quite well done I must say.

You can mount any folder you like as a DOS drive so you will have access to both. Just remember to use short filenames.

I mostly use it to play old DOS games. Can't do without X-Wing and Tie Fighter.

Thanks to both of you for paying attention. I'll see if DOSbox serves me rightly.

Well, Boxer would serve me right IF ONLY this silly .bat file wouldn't require be ran as a Win32 application… that was totally unexpected to say the least. So I guess I have to give VPC another try…

What does this batch file do that's so important for you to be running it on your Mac? Usually they're used as a script to modify settings or something...

seanc: my apologies, I had forgotten to check this topic… actually is a friend of me whom is after this, it has to do with some siemens stuff -no idea about the purpose of it-, since he is a Mac user he would prefer to avoid running the whole thing under a PC just to this naive .bat thing… Anyway he told me even an old G3 is faster enough, it takes eight seconds to run it, but he has yet bought an intel Mac which run this as soon as you hit the intro key… ha
