Hi

Apologies beforehand for what may be a total noob question from a total noob to the Apple world but I am wondering if it is possible to run windows XP as the only, stand-alone OS on intel-based Apple hardware (i.e. without Leopard or Boot Camp). Thanks

Entirely possible. All Bootcamp does is make the partition where you install Windows. The drivers for Windows are on the Leopard install disk or can be downloaded from Apple.

If I were going to be running Windows only though, I'd be buying a nice PC laptop because I miss the functionality like a print screen button & a right click button (this works if you hold two fingers on the trackpad & click the trackpad button) when running Windows.

why would you buy a much more expensive Mac only to not use OS X? Get a Windows PC for a lot less.
