I'm trying to install linux on my Macbook and I'm getting a little frustrated. It seems that Apple wants me to either jump through hoops to resize my partition or shell out anywheres from $50 - $100 for an application I will only use a couple times. I have installed linux before on my Macbook, but that was after a fresh install of Tiger, in which I only gave it a certain amount of space. Then I installed Linux.

Why is it so hard to resize a partition? I know there are countless threads on this subject here at Macnn and even more articles out on the web. But they all either repeat themselves or just run me around in circles. I just needed to vent a little. Anyone have a solution or a suggestion other than having a beer or two? Thanks for reading my rant.

Leopard's disk utility lets you dynamically resize. Are you using Leopard?

Hey Cold Warrior,
Yeah I am currently running Leopard. I tried to dynamically resize with DiskUtility and it just hangs when I click "Apply."
