Hello, when I try to install a slipstreamed version of SP3, I keep getting the error above.

Here's the steps I am taking:
Boot Camp partition (60 GB)
Boot into Win Install
From there, format as NTFS
Win Install init., then I get the "red x" error window saying that Windows can't find C: \DSPdsblr.exe...
Windows install continues, and the disk is ejected
After about 15 secs, Win can't find a file needed for install and tells me to insert the disk
I insert the disk
Same error over, and over

Can someone help me?

Since you indicated this a slipstreamed disc, I'd say your slipstream went bad.

I tried 2, one was from my friend, Jim, and the other, I (tried) to make myself (which didn't work well).

But right now, I'll discuss my friend's, he's got his working on his MacBook Pro, as well.
Also, he burned one @ 8x, and one at 4x, I used the 4x.

You DO have Boot Camp 2.1, right? Not just 2.0. So Cold Warrior is correct that the basic version of Boot Camp that came with Leopard will NOT install SP3, ONLY SP2.

Please check and confirm that you do have version 2.1...

Are you using Jim's disc that worked on his MBP? If not, then the theory is that your burn is bad. Macs trying to read Windows install discs are notoriously finicky.

Yea, I'm using Jim's.. But I'm going to do more tests, I think I've found the solution.. This may take awhile.

DSPdsblr.exe is related to having slipstreamed driver packs into your disc. Sounds like it either wasn't done right or your computer can't read the disc properly which = bad burn or bad drive.

But I had Vista on it earlier as well.

The Windows installer is pretty brain-damaged. It uses probably the oldest possible optical drive driver for backward compatibility (backward to the 1992 period!), and that means that it is incredibly bad at handling even the tiniest error. Combine that with the fact that Apple uses some blazingly fast optical drives, and it's easy for a fingerprint or smudge to mess up an XP install. A very clean CD is a necessity or you run the risk of having the kind of trouble you're describing. I would be very diligent at keeping that disc immaculate before trying to use it.

The disk is actually very new, and NO (and I can very, very) easily say no scratch-marks, fingerprints, or anything that would make the disk unreadable.

I also managed to get my hands on a very shiny, new copy of an SP2, once again, no luck.. Just keeps ejecting.

So to clarify, this is a genuine Microsoft copy of SP2 now, not a slipstream?

You'll have to restart the install from scratch now, no Microsoft disc will have DSPdsblr.exe on it, it's related to one of those slipstream discs you used which had a driver pack on it.

Yes, it is, but I think I might've figured out the problem. More on that later xD

My method had no effect...

Wanna know the odd thing, tho? I can install the SP3 Slipstream to VMWare Fusion w/o any problem at all.

That's your problem!
I had the same error when I tried to replace Vista with XP.
The only solution that worked for me was deleting the old Boot Camp partition (re-merging it with your OSX partition) and creating a new one with Boot Camp (formatting the old partition wasn't enough!)!
Hope it helps...
