I am trying to install my windows xp disk on the bootcamp partition on my mac mini. It is connected up to my plasma tv. Everything partitions fine, and then when I select install it reboots to a purely black screen (with no cursor or anything).

Is this because its hooked up to the plasma tv? I use OSX for everything, except I would like to be able to stream Netflix with IE (which unfortunately is not supported by OSX anymore).

Or maybe there is a better option out there? I have an intel mac mini (1.8ghz if I recall correctly), newest version of Leapord, and a windows install disc (I also have a Vista install disc, but that doesn't work either, just get the black screen).

Any help would be appreciated.

Hook up to a regular monitor and see what happens. For what it's worth, Windows' installer ain't the sharpest tool in the shed, if you know what I mean, and it's easily flustered by seemingly innocent variations. It's quite possible that the "basic VGA" driver from 1999 (or similarly ancient time) that's included in the installer just can't handle the video system when it's connected to a plasma display.

Once you get Windows installed, AND INSTALL THE DRIVERS FROM YOUR OS X DISC, you should be able to reconnect the plasma display and have it work.
