When running boot camp to install XP, I keep getting disk error hit any key to restart. None of the keys work and I have to do a hard restart. Apple help says:

"After creating a Windows partition in Boot Camp 2.0 in Mac OS X 10.5, then rebooting from the Windows XP installer CD, be sure that you format the Windows partition before continuing with the rest of the Windows XP setup process.

Important: Do not use the options named "Leave the current file system intact (no changes)" or "Convert the partition to NTFS."

The problem is, it never asks me to format the partition, just goes right into the install. Is there a way to format the partition after the install is done? Or should I just shell out for another xp cd and try that?

Read this thread:

You might need to make a copy of your XP installation disk.

I read that thread last night, it didn't help. I've tried to install about a dozen times and never get to the step where it asks to format the partition. I'm going to try making a copy of the disk today and see what happens.

Update: I made a copy of the installation disk and got stuck at the same point with the same disk error message.
