I just bought VM Fusion and I had to allocate space from my HDD to run this. I was wondering is it possible not to allocate extra HDD space and just link it to what my OSX uses?

For example:

Hard drive has 60 gb of free space:

Now I have 40 gb because 20 gb was allocated to VM Fusion. Can I just bypass the 20 gb and combine it with the OSX OS?

Did you partition the hard drive using BootCamp or just create a large file of preallocated space using VMWare? You can choose the lower performing option of a dynamically growing file for the VMWare hard drive so you're not out 20GB at the start.
