Long time reader, recent poster here with a question I'm hoping that someone can answer.
A little while back I downloaded a copy of Windows Server 2008 courtesy of Microsoft's DreamSpark program. I had used the OS before and like it very much, and being less bloated and more feature-rich than some versions of Vista, I decided that it would be a good candidate for a second OS on my Macbook Pro. As I was reading around however, I found out that the ISO doesn't work right out of the box with BootCamp. It's something about a revision or version number that makes BootCamp go crazy I think. There was mention of a modified ISO, but the only website I've seen mentioned that details how to do it seems to not be online anymore.
Would anyone have any idea how to do this? I've been searching Google and the forums and I've found little to no information on this topic. Thanks!

You shouldn't have a problem. Just partition, pop the disk in, restart, and hold down the C key.
Boot Camp may not want to boot from the CD because it's not a version it explicitly recognizes. That's ok. Just use Boot Camp to partition, don't use it to install.
(IMO though Vista is a much better general use OS. Windows Server is a lot more locked down, disables services you'd probably want to use for a general OS among other things. It doesn't even have sound enabled out of the box. If you have MSDNAA you can grab Vista business there.)

Thanks for the advice. I actually don't have any problems with Server 2008 being "locked down" because there's a tool out there that automates the transition to Vista likeness. As far as installing Server 2008 and BootCamp is concerned, I'm going with Server 2008 because unfortunately, my school doesn't participate in MSDNAA. I'm going to burn Server 2008 to a disc in a little bit and give this a shot. Let's hope it works!
