I have a Bootcamp partition which has been running great with VMWare Fusion. I would like to upgrade to the latest version of Parallels as well, and was wondering: Can I launch the same BootCamp partition with Fusion or Parallels without causing any problems?

I'd like to try them both on BootCamp and check out the latest speed/features of each, but I don't want my BC partition to get hosed.

Can I do this without breaking anything?

Thanks,
v.m

It works, but you have to re-activate Windows when switching between environments. Also it's best to uninstall Parallels tools (or the Fusion equivalent) when switching.

It's a pain, but it can be done. My biggest problem (I've done this a number of times) has been having to re-activate Windows. Internet activation no longer works so I always have to call India.

Thanks, Steve! Not exactly the answer I wanted to hear, but at least it's solid info.

I switched from P to VM because of stability and support issues. Parallels had the worst support I've ever seen for a Mac product. I want to try the new product but that sounds like a hassle (escpecially since I use this for work purposes and can't afford to be futzing around). I think I'll just stick with VMWare Fusion for the time being... until I hear glowing and wonderful things about the new Parallels.
