Hey, guys -

We just got in our new Mac Pro at my office, and I'm trying to install a Windows partition via Boot Camp. However, when I get to the blue Windows install screen, I get a message that there is no drive available. Could this be due to the RAID card? Do you guys know a way to resolve this? Thanks!

My first thought is 'ugh'.

To install RAID cards for XPs setup utility, you need a floppy drive. You're not going to have a floppy connector on the motherboard or your power supply.

Your options - you purchase/borrow a USB floppy drive and hope that it works - the best bet OR find a USB flash drive that has a 'floppy' emulated partition.

So...I'm going to concur with your "ugh."

If I buy a USB floppy drive, what do I need to do? Thanks for your help!

if you buy a USB floppy drive, all you *CAN* do is to plug it in and hope.
You'll need to create a floppy disk with the correct drivers for the RAID card, you may find you actually need Windows for this.

Alternatively, we may have one more solution - slipstreaming a Windows XP disc with the drivers built in - you'll need Windows to do this too.

Here's a thread by ghporter which may help - it mentions how to slipstream SP2 into an older disc, but the general process is the same. http://forums.macnn.com/109/alternat...eaming-xp-sp2/

Using something like nLite to add specific drivers to an XP installation is really just a couple of mouse clicks more difficult than doing a straight slipstream. It should not be a huge hassle to do it, as long as you can find the right drivers for the hardware.
