So Microsoft's allowing netbook manufacturers to installed Windows 7 Starter Edition on their machines. I think this is a great idea. With the limitation of only 3 concurrent applications running at the same time, that means only 3 pieces of malware could possibly infect your computer simultaneously.

Microsoft should advertise the security benefits of that!

I don't think background services count toward the limit, so it depends what sort of malware you choose to install.

Of course you have a choice!

There are many variants of Vundo! AntiSpyware XP 2008, 2009.. AntiVirus XP 2008.. etc.

Yea, IME most malware is installed by user action and/or with their permission. Worms are an obvious exception but they don't account for the majority of malware AFAIK.
