I have purchased XP Home from Netegg OEM for new computer, and I now have a new MacbookPro. This worked fine on Parallel, but doesn't go to a usable window on bootcamp, merely the green hill with START. I have followed all the appropriate sreens and no one can officially help because microsoft doesn't support OEM, and Apple doesn't know anything about windows once it is installed. HELP PLEASE!

Did you put in a leopard disk or your install disk number one to install all the proper drivers after you installed windoze?

There are times when the Windows installer screws up. I'd back out, boot into OS X and use the Boot Camp Utility to delete that partition. Once that's done, restart OS X (not a bad idea when you're messing with the basic structure of your hard drive) and then start the Boot Camp process over again.

I'd also clean the heck out of the Windows CD you're using, just in case the installer had a data error due to a fingerprint or something-the optical drive driver in the installer will work with CD drives older than you are, but it's really, really bad at error detection.

It sounds to me like he didn't get that far-like he got to the "Welcome to Windows" screen and couldn't get any farther...

You might be right.. He does see the desktop (green hills), but the install certainly could have gone awry.
