I have an external monitor, and whenever I am home I have my macbook hooked up with the lid closed...OS X works fine, but when I try to boot into XP, it doesn't want to recognize the external monitor as the primary monitor. Anyone have this working properly?

try changing the resolution on the external monitor to a low one (800x600).

also boot with your macbook closed. This should force the display to a single monitor (the external), and once booted you may have the option via the Windows display panel to turn on the macbook's display as a second monitor.
