I'm looking to clean out unnecessary files from the 8 GB SSD in my Netbook, as it has about 1.5 GB free right now. Is there any recommended software for seeking out unnecessary files on the drive, or recommendations of Windows components that aren't needed and safe to remove?

Also, what is the most recommended way to back up the drive? I have a 250 GB external hard drive, which I'm setting aside space on for backing up my main drive, and want to have it set so that in case of a crash on the main drive, I only have the most important items backed up to copy over to the drive to restore it.

CCleaner or Glary's Utilities work well for cleaning junk.
