Hey all,

Ok so on my Macbook 10.6.1 with 2 partitions one is OS X Macintosh HD the other is just a storage drive 20GB partition that I want to install Ubuntu on. Bootcamp assistant won't let me install on this second partition. Says the drive has to be a single partition. Is there any way to do this? or Is there a way to repartition into a single without me wiping the entire drive? I really don't want to reinstall os x.

Thanks

You can repartition with something like Coriolis Partition Manager (or whatever it's called these days), which will allow nondestructive repartitioning.

Why can't you just boot off the Ubuntu DVD/CD and install it normally? Then you can just Opt+Boot and the built-in Mac bootloader should identify your second partition as bootable.

If you need to go back to one partition, use Disk Utility. It can do what you need. However, you can probably just install onto that 2nd partition as is.
