Ok, so I managed to have my bank's data download for Quicken (file ending with .qfx) associated with Quicken for PC on my Fusion VM.

It worked until I switched to Fusion 3 and a new VM.

When I now download the .qfx file in Safari (on OS X), the file is still associated with my OLD VM and Quicken. For some weird reason, when I try to change the helper application ("Open with..."), my NEW VM and Quicken doesn't appear as an option for the helper application.

I restarted the VM, rebooted my Mac, no dice.
I even rebuilt the Launch Services database, but no luck.

WTF to do to get OS X to "refresh" the list of available helper apps ?

Ok, found it. Seems like the upgrade from Fusion 2 to Fusion 3 deactivated a setting that was by default turned on in Fusion 2.

In the Fusion 3 "Application" - "Default Application", the checkboxes need to be checked.
Weird that Fusion 3 turned this off.
