I have a 15 inch early 2008 macbook pro running snow leopard and vista x32. Often times i hook up my computer (in mac mode) to a tv via a dvi to vga converter. however, when i have tried to do the same running vista through bootcamp, the computer will not recognize the other monitor. The NVIDIA 8600M graphics driver is installed and i can access the control panel but it still will not detect the external display. any ideas?

In OS X go to System Preferences > Startup Disk and choose your boot camp drive. Shut down your Mac and connect the external display. Power on your Mac but close the MBP's lid quickly after pressing its power button. Leave the lid closed until you need the keyboard to log in to Vista.

This should force things to the external display. Once logged in you can use the control panel to try to turn on or set up your MBP display.

Thanks for the reply. I tried restarting the computer shortly after posting the message in windows mode and it recognized the display. It also works in extended mode, which i know some people were having trouble with. I downloaded a new driver from nvidia's website before restarting as well-maybe that helped.
