I have an old 2 GHz Intel Core Duo MacBook Pro that has Windows Vista Home Premium (full version) loaded on a partition via bootcamp. I don't have Parallels Desktop 5 or VMware Fusion 3 (or older version). I am replacing this computer with a MacBookPro intel core 2 duo 2.66GHz computer.

I want to install Windows 7 on this new computer.

I want to buy the Windows 7 Home Premium (UPGRADE) because it's a lot less money than the full version and I already have the full version of Vista.

Is it possible to load Windows 7 Home Premium (Upgrade on the new computer? Do I first need to install the older Windows Vista full version on this new computer and then install the Windows 7 upgrade. Do I need to deactivate the Vista version from the old computer? Does this work smoothly or should I just sink an extra 50 dollars and buy the full version of Windows 7 (I don't want to go this route if I don't have to)?

Should I buy Parallels Desktop 5 or VMware Fusion 3 to make this easier. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make this upgrade/addition happen more smoothly?
Thanks for your help and input.

PS I was able to load and use Vista on the old MacBook Pro without any problems (Hope this streak continues??

I'd simply try to load the upgrade via bootcamp - if that fails do a fast and dirty vista install via bootcamp and upgrade.
