Hi, I have several vritual machine which set up on the IMAC to the MAC PRO MC561CH/A work station. But when I changed the virtual machine to one CPU core or two CPU core. It also said:
The CPU has been disabled by the guest operating system.
you will need to power off or reset the virtual machine at this point.

I'm presuming you are talking about Parallels or VMWare Fusion. I don't know as much about VMWare, but with Parallels, you should certainly be fully shutting down a VM, not just suspending it, before moving it or changing its hardware configuration, such as the amount of processors.
